WORKSHOP FOR 2 ICs & VIR

In accordance with the directions and supervision of Colonel of the Regiment, a Workshop for Battalion 2ICs was successfully conducted from 22 May 2017 to 26 May 2017 at the Regimental Centre VIR to enhance their knowledge on efficient administrative and logistic functioning of battalions. For this Workshop, visiting lecturers from various Regiments/Institutes conducted lectures. The subjects conducted are as follows: Offrs Career Progression Service Writing Social/Mess Etiquettes Army Logistic Procedure Maintenance of Unit accounts Procedures on Retirements, Extensions and Re- engagement Pay and Allowance Trade Mustering Promotion criteria (ORs) Army Ceremonials/Funeral Procedure Dress Regulations Army Welfare Legal Procedure Civil Law Rules of Engagement At the end of the Workshop, Colonel of the Regiment gave away certificates to participant 2 ICs.

The battalion visit of VIR Bns deployed in the security force (East)

The battalion visit of VIR battalions, deployed in Security Force (East) was conducted on 14th and 15th June 2017 by the Colonel of the Regiment Major General A Kariyakarawana USP ndc. And Admin Inspection was also conducted by Staff Officers of the RHQ VIR. In that 6 VIR 22 VIR and 3 (V) VIR battalions were visited by the Colonel of the Regiment and following events were included for the event.

YEAR END OFFICERS TRAINING DAY CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY

Year end officer’s training day was concluded on 22 December 2017 at Regimental headquarters Boyagane Kurunegala. The programme was commenced by morning physical training and after Physical Training all officers ranks of Maj and below practiced the swords drill at the regimental parade ground, after the sword drill according to instructions given by Col of the Regt to enhance the regimentations within the battalions all officers attend to witness a Guard mounting Drill demonstration done by the regimental parade team.

COL OF THE REGIMENT JOINED TO CONGRATULATE HISTORY CHANGERS.

COL OF THE REGIMENT JOINED TO CONGRATULATE HISTORY CHANGERS. First time in the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, there were ten officers selected to follow the 2016 -2017 staff course at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC). After completing the course successfully, they have graduated on 13 December 2017. The graduation ceremony was held at the DSCSC main auditorium. Col of the Regt Maj Gen A. By Keeping a step forward to make reality of the mission to make as the best Regiment among all other Regiments in Sri Lanka Army, Differently-able sportsmen including 2 Officers and 101Other Rankers of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, showcased their unparalleled sports skills during their landmark three-day long ‘20th Army Para Games - 2017’ brought the tournament to end at Diyagama Stadium on 24th November 2017 afternoon. The tournament that covered track and field events came to a climax with athletic and relay events taking the centre-stage in the during three days.
