The Executive council members of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Ex Servicemen ware gathered 02 November 2018 at The Salute Reception Hall – Boyagane.
President of ex-servicemen Maj Gen (Retd) RV Samarathunga RWP RSP and number of retd officers and NCOS attended for the event and they conduct this session along with “ The Day of the Dead ”.
The ex-servicemen gave the floral tribute to the Ranaviru Monuments and observed two minutes silence for fallen war heroes.

The direction given by the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Col of the Regt, Theofficers training day for the third quarter of 2018 was successfully conducted with the participation of 210 officers at RHQ VIR on 28September 2018.
According to the scheduled programme all officers attended to the morning PT parade and then after attended to the Drill at Parade Ground.
Opening statement was done by the Centre commandant of VIR at the Archers Cinema auditorium and then after Lt Col NPL Mendispsc SLSC was conducted lecture regarding “ MessEtiquette “.

A workshop was held at Indoor Stadium of The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment for theVijayabahu War Heroes to Enhancing Creativity and conceived abilities and Mental and physical relaxation.

This event was held under supervision of colonel of the regiment and deputy chief of staff Maj Gen Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc and workshop was conducted by senior film actress Anoja Weerasinghe and nine members of the “ Abhina ” Academy of performing arts at Bellanvila.

01. Inter Regiment Carom Tournament organized by Sri Lanka Signal Corps was taken place at Auditorium at SLSC from 20th to 24th August 2018. Teams representing 13 Regiment participated the events.
02. While the finals between RHQ VIR Team and SLSR Team were conducted, Team represented by RHQ VIR was able to achieve the Inter Regiment Carom Championship for the year 2018 by defeating opponent SLSR Team.SLSC achieved the third place respectively

Regimental Headquarter battalion commemorated its 25th Silver Jubilee on grand scale in the camp premises under the supervision of Commanding Officer Maj Kasun Abeysinghe.
Commemoration Ceremony started with the Pirith Chanting and offered a “Heel Dhanaya” in the following day.
After a colorful Guard Turnout, Commanding Officer along with other Senior Officers/Officers and other ranks gave the floral tribute to the Ranaviru Monuments and PWV s’Statutes.

Showing the high regard and respect for conduct of the annual Kandy Sri Dalada Perahera festival, Sri Lanka Army’s Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops for the 4th consecutive year this morning (8) donated five tons of dried coconut (coppara) for illumination of the Perahera (pageant) during its parade along streets in Kandy.

Centre commandant Brig S Ariyasinghe VIR laid the foundation stone for construction of the new Tube well atBoyagane camp premises on 12 July 2018.
This Project was started with the instruction of Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen AKariyakarawana USP for implementation of the infrastructures of the Vijayabahu Soldiers.
The event was held under religious obligation and all the staff officers of RHQ VIR and Other rankersattended.

Annual Inter Battalion Athletic meet, organized by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was held in Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment ground. The Athletic meet began on 03rd July and closing ceremony was held on 05th July 2018.
A total of 430 athletes, representing from all battalions competed in the meet. 5th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (5VIR) won the championship for the 2018 and 18th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (18VIR) became the runners up. 4th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (4VIR) won the 3rd place.
The Best Athlete of the event was S/530287 Pte Karunathilake NAR.

The Vijayabahu Motocross - 2018, Organized by The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment In Collaboration with Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association, Sri Lanka Mortorcycle Riders Association was held at Vijayabahu Motocross circuit at Boyagane on 17 June 2018. The event was once again, absolute success, and all spectators enjoyed trilling experiences during the Vijayabahu Motocross – 2018 while creating avenues for riders to demonstrate their talents.

The second quarter officers’ training day was held on 18 May 2018 at Regimental headquarters Boyagane - Kurunegala. The programme was commenced by morning physical training with the participation of Colonel of the Regiment.
After the PT Colonel of the Regiment and all officers attended to the ranaviru commemoration at the Monument of RHQ VIR.
According to the scheduled programmeLt Col BGS Fernando USP psc SLA conducted lecture about “Officers Career progression and ACR”.
