This is a two story building consisting with all facilities and started with the instruction of Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen A Kariyakarawana USP for implementation of the infrastructures facilities of the NCOS’.

The rugby tournament which was organized by RUGBY FOOTBAL ASSOSIATION at rathmalana air force ground was won by VIR rugby team on 28 july 2018.
VIR rugby team could able to become a champions in grade ‘ C ‘by defeating All weslyrugby club by 34/00.
With this VIR rugby team can play Under grade ‘ B ’ and this was a remarkable turning point of VIR Rugby history.

Differently abled Sergeant H.A.C.S Hettiarachchi of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment representing the Sri Lanka Army Para Athletic committee on Saturday (21) established a new world record in Javelin Throw with Astonishing for 62.11m in the National Para Athletic Championship - 2018 of the National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka, now underway at the Sugathadasa International Stadium in Colombo.
The previous world record in Javelin Throw was 59.82m.
Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit members went on the tour to Matara, Kamburupitiya ‘Abimansala – ii’ with a view to inquiring into the well-being of its inmates with Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen AKariyakaravana.
The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) SevaVanitha members offered Lunch and gift to inmates during the visit and Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Ransara musical group added music rhythms and entertained the inmates.
Annual Inter Battalion Athletic meet, organized by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was held in Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment ground. The Athletic meet began on 03rd July and closing ceremony was held on 05th July 2018.
A total of 430 athletes, representing from all battalions competed in the meet. 5th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (5VIR) won the championship for the 2018 and 18th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (18VIR) became the runners up. 4th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (4VIR) won the 3rd place.
The Best Athlete of the event was S/530287 Pte Karunathilake NAR.
The Vijayabahu Motocross - 2018, Organized by The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment In Collaboration with Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Club, Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association, Sri Lanka Mortorcycle Riders Association was held at Vijayabahu Motocross circuit at Boyagane on 17 June 2018. The event was once again, absolute success, and all spectators enjoyed trilling experiences during the Vijayabahu Motocross – 2018 while creating avenues for riders to demonstrate their talents.
The second quarter officers’ training day was held on 18 May 2018 at Regimental headquarters Boyagane - Kurunegala. The programme was commenced by morning physical training with the participation of Colonel of the Regiment.
After the PT Colonel of the Regiment and all officers attended to the ranaviru commemoration at the Monument of RHQ VIR.

The flagship motor racing event of the Army's Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), 'Vijayabahu Motorcross - 2018' hand in hand with the Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association will kick off along VIR tracks in Boyagane, Kurunegala for the 16th consecutive year on 17 June with more than 80 famed competitors, including foreign riders, so said Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR during the first Media briefing regarding the event, held at Colombo Mirage hotel on Friday (25).
