The direction given by the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Col of the Regt, The Officers training day for the fourth quarter of 2018 was successfully conducted with the participation of 200 officers at RHQ VIR on 21 December 2018.
According to the scheduled programme all officers attended to the morning PT parade and then after attended to the drill demonstration about Guard mounting and Guard dismounting at Parade Ground.
Opening statement was done by the Colonel of the regiment of VIR at the Archers Cinema auditorium and then after Felicitation ceremony was conducted to Maj CD Palihawadana who got the “Golden Owl” DSCSC course No 12.Maj EAAS Chaminda SLAGSC was conducted lecture regardingImportant of the war history & introduction about the Book of “AVIBIMAKA GINIYAMA”after thefelicitation ceremony.
Group presentation about “ Battle of Mulleriyawa” was done by the officers of 8 VIR.
Programme was concluded with the Diners’ Club session and Mr.KSC De Silva conducted lecture about “The new Nuclear powers and balance of power in the international system ” During the session.
