18th Defence Services Archery Championship was held on 24th and 25th July 2018 at the Air Force Headquarters Ground Colombo. Women’s Corps Archers won majority of medals in the competition.

The 10th Defence Service Netball Tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force was held from 4th to 6th April 2018 at Sri Lanka Air Force Indoor Stadium Thummulla. Army netballers historically secured the Defence Services Netball Championship - 2018 after absence of 18 years by defeating the Sri Lanka Air Force team and Sri Lanka Navy team.
The tournament was played on League Basis, In the first game Army defeated a star-studded Air Force side, which had seven current Sri Lanka players, 46-40. The opening two quarter were close, where Army edged out Air Force 11-10 & 12-10. However, the third quarter proved to be the game changer as Army took an 8-point lead with a 12-7 win (35-27). Though Air Force won the 4th quarter 11-13 they fell six points short (46-40).

The colours awarding ceremony for the year 2016 of Sri Lanka Army Women\'s Corps was held proudly at the auditorium of SLAC. The Colonel Commandant of SLAWC Maj Gen R Ratnasingham graced the occasion as the chief guest and Commandant of the DGGS Col SP Wijesooriya RWP RSP SLLI participated in the event. Officers and other rankers were awarded colours for their outstanding performances in sports at unit level, army level and defence level.Among 300 colour 164 were able to gain colours for 32 different sports events on the day.

1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women Corps has celebrated Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival very celebratively on 3rd April 2016 at Head Quarters 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women Corp. Sri Lanka Army Women Corps Colonel Commandant Maj Gen R Rathnasingham and the President of Sri Lanka Army Women Corps Sewavanitha Unit Mrs Vathani Rathnasingham were participated as distinguish Chief guest of the ceremony.On the day there were more than twenty different entertainment games and lot of children of our ORs have participated.The contest of Aurudu Kumariya was the most eye catching event and our honorable Chief guest Mrs Vathani Rathnasingham was the head of the judge board.

The annual Get Together of Regimental Centre SLAWC was organized at Laya Leisure Kukuleganna with the participation of more than 100 soldiers. The event was followed with fun games. The solidres were actively participated in the events.

The Brig DTN Munasinghe USP assumed duties as the 2nd lady Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women Corps on 4th August 2016 with the blessings of religious observances. After Receiving the Guard of Honour she addressed the gathering at all rankers tea party. The conference held at officers mess, regarding the challenges and future plans.
