  • THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED OFFICE OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY SEVA VANITHA UNIT PRESIDENT WAS OPENED

    The newly constructed office of the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit President was opened on 16 July 2020 at the invitation of Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit President Mrs Sujeewa Nelson by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for COVID – 19 outbreak.

  • One day workshop regarding Apiculture for Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps

    One day workshop regarding Apiculture was conducted for Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps officers and soldiers at the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Training School – Kaluaggala on 23 June 2020 under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and Master General Ordnance (MGO) Major General Prasanna Chandrasekere and the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake.

  • A NEW LEASED ACCOMMODATION COMPLEX FOR SLAWC LADY OFFICERS

    Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President Army Seva Vanitha Unit as the Chief Guest on Wednesday (20) took part in the formal handover of the leased new accommodation building at Polhengoda for lady officers of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps with the sole intention of uplifting living standard of lady officers. The building accommodates 30 lady officers and is equipped with all facilities.

    Major General C M D P Chandrasekere ndu, assumed office as the 18th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps on 26 February 2020 and he was awarded a ceremonial guard turnout at the HQ 1SLAWC.

  • REGIMENTAL CENTRE SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS COMMEMORATED 22ND ANNIVERSARY

    A series of events were held to commemorate the 22nd Anniversary of Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (RHQ SLAWC) under the guidance and supervision of Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc, Colonel Commandant - SLAWC. The programme was commenced with a guard turnout and then followed by all rank tea party. This ceremonial day events terminated with the ‘Bodhi Pooja’ held at Gangarama Viharaya, with the participation of Colonel Commandant, Centre Commandant, all Officers and other ranks of RHQ SLAWC.

    A series of events were held to bid a farewell to the outgoing Colonel Commandant Major General M Mudannayake RSP USP on 28 October 2019 at Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Artillery, Panagoda. The ceremonial formalities were commenced with a Guard Turnout, Guard of Honour followed by an all rank tea, troop address and a farewell dinner.
