SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY WAS SUCCESSFULLY HELD AT BOYAGANE, KURUNEGALA.

Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Officers’ training day programme (first quarter) 2019 was organized under the supervision and guidance of the Colonel Commandant, Major General M Mudannayake RSP USP and the Centre Commandant, Brigadier R K B S Katekumbura RSP at Regimental Centre, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Boyagane on 29 April 2019.

The morning session of the training day was commenced with Physical Training followed by Sword Drill. The points stressed by the Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps in his address were of utmost importance to the officers.

The officers were immensely benefited by the comprehensive lectures conducted by Mr. Sanjeewa Rathnayake, Country Director of IPTFA Sri Lanka on ‘How to maintain physical fitness’ and Lieutenant Colonel MDSN Karunarathne on ‘How to maintain an Annual Confidential Report’.

Officers’ training day programme was concluded with the informative lecture titled ‘People Skills’ conducted by Mr. B K H D Anuranga (Lecturer at Department of Commerce and Financial Management, of University of Kelaniya) in the Diners’ Club at the ‘Salute’ Reception Hall of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

A total of 73 Officers attended for the training day programme. Conducting the Officers’ training day programmes of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps as a combined event at the same location is of significance.

Making the Officers’ training day a success, the hospitality and the assistance extended by the Centre Commandant, all Officers and Other Ranks of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment is highly appreciated.
