NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE & LIVESTOCK ASSUMES DUTIES

Director General Infantry Major General MN Fernando RSP assumed the esteemed position of Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock (SLACAL) on 15 May 2026, at the Regimental Headquarters in Karandeniya during a dignified ceremony.

The General was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant of SLACAL, upon his arrival at the camp. A vibrant guard turnout preceded his entry. Subsequently, the Centre Commandant of SLACAL welcomed the incoming Colonel Commandant and invited him to inspect the Guard of Honour, followed by the traditional salute.

Maj Gen MN Fernando RSP signed an official document within his new office. After that he planting a sapling to marked the occasion. Major General MN Fernando RSP addressed the troops and educated all officers and ORs to maintain discipline, training, and efficiency, as they're essential components of achieving the regimental goal.

After the address, he had the customary All Ranks tea, where he engaged in meaningful interaction with the troops and then he participated in Regimental briefing which was conducted by Centre Commandant and Staff officers. Council members of SLACAL, senior officers, officers, and other ranks graced the occasion with their presence.
