NEW COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE & LIVESTOCK ASSUMES DUTIES

Major General UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 22nd Infantry Division, assumed the esteemed position of Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock (SLACAL) on 10 December at the Regimental Headquarters in Karandeniya during a dignified ceremony.

The General was warmly welcomed by Colonel PAR Wijerathna RWP RSP, the deputy center commandant of SLACAL, upon his arrival at the camp. A vibrant guard turnout preceded his entry. Subsequently, Brigadier TMSJ Tennakoon RSP, the Centre Commandant of SLACAL, welcomed the incoming Colonel Commandant and invited him to inspect the Guard of Honor, followed by the traditional salute.

Within his new office, Maj Gen UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc signed an official document soon after the religious observances. After planting a sapling, he further marked the occasion and then he addressed the troops and educated all officers and ORs to maintain the three main aspects discipline, training and efficiency as it’s essential components to succeed in achieving the regimental goal.

After the address, he had the customary all-ranks tea, where he engaged in meaningful interaction with the troops. The occasion was graced by the presence of SLACAL council members, senior officers, officers, and other ranks.
