CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK CELEBRATED 2ND ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock remarkable and illustrious service to the nation with great potential commemorated its 2nd Anniversary on 02,03 and 04 January 2023.Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP the Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, flagged off the celebrations in the presence of all Ranks.

On 4th January 2023 arrived at the Regimental Headquarters, the Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Brigadier Bandula Bandara RSP the Centre Commandant SLACAL and invited to review the guard Turnout and accompanied to the salute of the proud, dignified military guard of honour and a parade at Regimental Headquarters Karandeniya.

The Colonel Commandant extended his gratitude during address of troops, remembering great commitment of Officers and All Ranks during their courageous and enthusiastic commitments taken throughout to uplift, the standard of the newly established Corps. It is also recalled that the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage has extended his hearty congratulations to all the Agrarians who are celebrating the second anniversary of the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.Colonel Commandant highlighted that His Excellency the President Ranil Wickremasinghe has highly appreciated the contribution made by the Corps of Agriculture to raise the agriculture sector in the country at present.

Afterwards, The Colonel Commandant sat for a group photograph with Officers and participated for the opening of newly constructed ORs accommodation building and new Officers accommodation building before planted a sapling in front of the RHQ SLACAL Officers mess.

Colonel Commandant participated for the all ranks lunch and a brief commemoration was held adhering to health regulations and guidelines.
