Broiler Chicken Project Started at Army Farm Niraviya

Record high food prices have triggered a global crisis that will drive millions more into extreme poverty, magnifying hunger and malnutrition, while threatening to erase hard-won gains in development in the country and all these are happing due to the less productivity of all kinds of food.

The broiler industry is the process by which broiler chickens are reared and prepared for meat consumption.In view of the huge demand for meat by giving higher contribution to the Sri Lankan meat industry Army Farm Niraviya started Broiler Chiken Project on 03rd August 2022 with 6,000 Chicks during the first stage of the project.

In line to the government food security programme LG farm is providing all the chicks,ration, consultation and all other assistance for this initial project in Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

Within the next stage chicks will be increased up to 8000 and to bring more production for the meat industry.
