SLACAL with National Home Gardening Drive

National Home Gardening Drive was started by planting about 500 vegetable saplings in Army Headquarters Sri Jayawardenepura sharp at auspicious timing of 0918 hours on 2022 March 29. Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army graced the occasion as the chief guest with the participation of Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP.

To Mark this inauguration ceremony of Gardening in Government institutions and lands based on Green Nation home gardening project under the theme 'Let Us Start from our Home Garden - 2022' to establish sustainable development, the farms and all the units of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock has planted varieties of saplings ( Chilies, Cocoa, Avocado, Green beans, Egg plants, Tomatoes, Maniac, Mango, Coconut, Banana ) at auspicious timing. This remarkable event has been intiated under the guidance of Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of SLACAL.

This Green Nation project is coincided with the Cabinet Memorandum submitted by the Hon. Minister of Finance on implementation of major proposals on economic difficulties faced by the people in Sri Lanka.
