CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK CELEBRATED ITS 1ST ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock remarkable and illustrious service to the nation with great potential commemorated its 1^st Anniversary on Tuesday, 04 January 2022.Major General WBSM Abeysekera RSP USP the Director General Financial Management(DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, flagged off the celebrations in the presence of all Ranks.

On 03^rd January 2022 followed by Bodhi Pooja blessing ceremony and next day arrived at the Regimental Headquarters, the Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Brigadier Bandula Liyanage the Centre Commandant SLACAL and invited to review the guard turnout.

Afterwards, The Colonel Commandant has planted a sapling in front of the RHQ SLACAL office building and before sat for a group photograph with Officers and Other Ranks Col Comdt adorned new collar badges to RHQ SLACAL staff.

The Colonel Commandant extended his gratitude during address of troops, remembering great commitment of Officers and All Ranks during their courageous and enthusiastic commitments taken throughout to uplift the standard of the newly established Corps as per the concept of HE the President and he also thank the Chief of Defence Staff & Comd of the Army for guidance and his vision to improve Army Agriculture keeping Corps of Agriculture flag high at the all time.At the same time Col Comdt launched the Web site of Agriculture Corps officially. After that Colonel Commandant joined for an all ranks tea party where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks.

Subsequently a donation was given to Warusawithana Elders Home and finally Colonel Commandant participated for the all ranks lunch and a brief commemoration was held adhering to health regulations and guidelines.
