THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SLACAL VISITS 5(V) SLACAL- KURUMBASIDDY KANKESANTURAI

The Director General Financial Management (DGFM) of the Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock visited 5(V) battalion of SLACAL on 03 April 2022 with the Director of A & L Brigadier AK Rajapaksa RSP. The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by 1st Commanding Officer of 5(V) SLACAL Lieutenant Colonel WPK Samaranayake psc SLA and honoured with a guard turnout at the entrance.

A mango sapling was planted to mark the Colonel Commandant's visit and conducted a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing works and challenges to be faced in new establishment by Commanding Officer of 5(V) SLACAL.

The Colonel Commandant visited the camp premises and participated for all ranks tea. Thereafter, addressed the troops in the camp. During his speech he emphasized that troops' full contribution and commitment is essential for the upliftment of this newly established battalion and thanked all troops for working together for the betterment of the organization.

Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant visits Army Farm Palali and met the Commander of Security Forces Jaffna, Major General DGS Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu and discussed about development of Agriculture in the area and future projects in Jaffna peninsula.
