4(V) SLACAL Launches Tree Planting Campaign at Periyakattu,Chettikulam

To coincide with the National Tree Planting campaign, Army troops across the country launched their own separate programmes in liason with the Forest Department.Forest Departments have historically been the organizations responsible for implementating forestry programmes.

Troops serving in 4 (V) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock conducted Forestry programme at Periyakattu in BFO division - Chettikulam.2500 Khaya and Kumbuk plants were planted by 05 x 100 troops with the guidance of Forest Officers Chettikulam.

Second in Command 4 (V) SLACAL Maj POVK Pathirana psc SLACAL, Agriculture officers and other ranks joined this valuble programme.
