The Angoda Hirukirana Social Care Foundation has organized a blood donation campaign for 21 times since 2003 in order to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa and the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the last humanitarian operation. The fire caused significant damage to the complex, and immediate action was required to control the situation. A sudden fire broke out at the Kanadola Garbage Dump in the general area of Mudduwa East, Ratnapura, around midnight on 06 August 2023. This incident caused panic and concern among the local community, as the fire posed a threat to both the environment and public safety.
