To coincide with the closing ceremony of the Battalion Training of 10th (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment at Battalion Training School in Mulankavil, Major General ChandanaWickramasinghe,the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), visited the school compound on Monday, 04th March.

The Jaffna Commander was warmly welcomed to the school premises by the General Officer Commanding, 52 Division and the Chief Instructor of the School. Thereafter, the Jaffna Commander and other participants attended a comprehensive briefing on the battalion training and training school, which was conducted by the Chief Instructor followed by an awarding ceremony.

After assuming duties, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe paid his homage to the Chief Monk of the Nagadeepa Purana Raja Maha Vihara and trustee authorities of Sri Nagapooshani Amman Kovil, Nainativu Islands in order to receive blessings of his most hallowed places of worship on 01 March 2024.

The Tennis court of this Headquarters is abundant for more than 10 years and on an initiative taken by the Security ForceCommander, thetennis court constructed and commenced its activities on 27th February 2024.

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc along with his staff visited seven kovils, which are to be released for the Hindu devotees on 26 February 2024.

The Technical Operations Manager of Mines Advisory Group (MAG), Mr Andrew Warsap (UK) along with the Consultant Officer, Major General (Retired) Kumara Peiris pays a courtesy call on Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc on 26 February 2024 at his office.

In order to uplift the knowledge on Military Act and Military Law a legal aid workshop was conducted on 20th and 21st February 2024 at Headquarters, Security Forces – Jaffna. It was organized as per the conceptual guidance of the Jaffna Commander, Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, under the supervision of Director Legal, Colonel NS Nallaperuma USP ndc.

Jaffna Commander, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, met the Hon. Governor for Northern Province, Mrs. P.S.M. Charles on 19th February 2024 at Governor’s Secretariat.

Indian High Commissioner Mr. Santosh Jha paid tribute to the fallen war heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) during operations against LTTE terrorists from 1987 to 1990 in Sri Lanka at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Monument, Palaly during the visit in Jaffna on 17th February 2024. Security Forces Commander Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc made his maiden official visit to the Army Base Hospital, Palali on 16th February 2024. The Commanding Officer of the Hospital Major Chinthaka Wijesinghe warmly welcomed the Commander, following the military traditions. Logistic Commander Major General Menaka Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Priyantha Nawarathne RWP RSP ndu and Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier Kausal Weerasinghe USP also attended at the visit.

Jaffna District Secretary Mr. A. Sivabalasundran, Northern Province Additional Secretary to the President Mr. I Ilangovan and few other state officials in Jaffna met the recently appointed Jaffna Security Forces Commander, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, at the Security Forces Headquarters on 14th February 2024.
