  • Frontline Health Workers of the Pandemic; Public Health Inspectors and Midwives Felicitated by Security Forces Commander in Jaffna

    An indispensable section of the frontline workers of the COVID 19 pandemic; Public Health Inspectors (PHI) and Midwives who have faced unprecedented workload in overstretched health facilities and working in a stressful and frightening work environment, under-protected, overworked and vulnerable to infection came into appreciation for their untiring service in Jaffna today.

  • Two more Army Built Houses for the Homeless Warmed and Awarded in Jaffna

    Pre cooked lunch packets and gift packs for twenty four girls and sixteen administrative staff including teachers in Kanam Children’s Home in Kopay were handed out by the troops of 513 Infantry Brigade to mark its 26th Anniversary on 26 August 2021.

  • 10 Million Rupee Granted to Itukama Covid - 19 Fund

    Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust and a philanthropist donor, Mr Vamadeva Thiagendran who resides in Jaffna donated 10 million rupees to the “Itukama COVID – 19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund” that has been established by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to strengthen the mitigation activities aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19 virus in the country and related social welfare programmes.

  • Army Medical Corps Personnel Deploy to Expedite Vaccination Drive

    Troops of 4th Battalion Medical Corps in coordination with the Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) Jaffna established 9 other static vaccination centers in Chanakanai, Chavakachcheri, Jaffna, Kopay, Maruthankerny, Nallur, Sandilipay, Tellipalai and Uduvil areas to further intensify the ongoing vaccination drive this morning while launching a mobile vaccination programe for elderly people above the age of 60, sick, handicapped and feeble sections in Jaffna peninsula.
