The continuous unfavorable weather condition caused a lot of damages to the lives of civilians and their properties in Bandarawela which is in the responsible area of Security Forces Headquarters (Central). A number of houses got damaged due to collapsing of earth mounds on them. Further, several roads also obstructed and it disturbed the transportation. In order to renovate the damaged houses and roads 22 soldiers from SF (Central), 1 officer and 25 soldiers from Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), 1 officer and 30 soldiers from Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS), 1 officer and 25 soldiers from Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS), 1 Officer and 20 soldiers from 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (7 SLSC) and 1 officer and 24 soldiers from 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (2 (V) SLEME) provided the assistance on 03 December 2017.

Prevailing adverse weather condition paralyzed the railway services from Ohiya to Diyatalawa which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Obstructing the railway passage, soil embankments collapsed from several areas and disturbed the rail transportation. In order to reconstruct the railway passage, one officer and 25 soldiers from following each institutes participated, SF HQ (Central), 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (7 SLSC) and Volunteer Force Training School - Diyatalawa have contributed on 01 December 2017.

An awareness programme for the military personnel on Cyber Security and the proper usage of internet were conducted at Security Forces Headquarters (Central) on 06 December 2017. 35 x officers and 109 x other ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and its under command Divisions, Brigades, Units and Training Schools participated for the programme. This timely lecture was conducted by the Commanding Officer of 12 Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Colonel SPP Pakshaweera.

Distribution of school accessories was taken place at Gangarama Viharaya in Kumbukkana and Veherayaya Kanishta Vidyalaya in Wellawaya on 04 and 05 December 2017. This was organized by 121 Brigade in order to facilitate selected 1001 students of 18 schools in Monaragala District which is located in the responsible area of 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central).
