On 29th September 2025, a powerful display of inter-stakeholder coorperation and officers and troops of 14 CBRNE Resp Regiment took center stage at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) which was organized by the Faculty of Medicine. The event brought together Sri Lanka Army, STF, academia and international partners from Belarus to share critical knowledge and demonstrate practical readiness in managing high stake radiological and nuclear incidents
The programme featured an informative session designed to broaden understanding of current Radiological and Nuclear threats and some historical incidents which occur in the past and the protocols for handling such incidents. As being a main stakeholder in first responder, 14 CBRNE Resp Regiment delivered an assistance lecture sharing the specialized knowledge and operational experience. The Synergy among the other stakeholders ensured a holistic and well-rounded educational session, emphasizing that an effective national response relies on unified, multi-disciplinary approach.
Following the lectures series, the practical readiness of the forces was put on display by demonstrating the RDD disposal drill which illustrates the coordinated actions required during an actual CBRN event. The demonstration proved the most valuable segment of the day, which was significantly praise from the hosts. The successful collaboration at KDU serves as model for future joint training and knowledge sharing initiatives across Sri Lanka army, academia and the globe.
