PLANT ENGINEER BRIGADE CELEBRATES 7TH ANNIVERSARY WITH GRANDEUR AND UNITY

The Plant Engineer Brigade of the Sri Lanka Army commemorated its 7th anniversary on 12 July 2025, with a series of ceremonious and spirited events that reflected the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers’ proud traditions, discipline, and camaraderie.

The commemorative programme began with a serene Bodhi Pooja held on 11 July 2025 at the Mahamevnawa Monastery, Kanthale. Officers and other ranks gathered to invoke blessings for the continued prosperity, strength, and unity of the Brigade.

A key highlight of the first day was a spirited cricket encounter, which showcased the teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among officers and other ranks. The tournament was widely appreciated for its competitive spirit and the strong sense of unity it fostered.

The formal anniversary celebrations reached their climax on 12 Jul 2025, when a series of military protocols were observed. Brigade Commander Brigadier Janaka Kodituwakku USP, ptsc was ceremonially received with a Guard Turnout at the Brigade’s main entrance, underscoring the significance of the occasion. During his official address Brigade Commander recognized the troops' dedicated and professional efforts, stressing the significance of working together, coordinating across units, and upholding discipline. A notable moment during the day’s proceedings was the All Ranks Lunch, where officers and soldiers dined together a long-standing tradition aimed at fostering unity, mutual respect, and collective spirit within the ranks.

The celebrations concluded with a vibrant Musical Evening at the Brigade camp, offering a wellearned respite from daily military duties. The event created an atmosphere of festivity and fellowship, encouraging cultural exchange, relaxation, and morale building. During the evening, winners of the 2025 Cricket Tournament were presented with awards, adding a jubilant touch to the closing ceremony.

The 7th Anniversary of the Plant Engineer Brigade stood as a testament to its legacy in promoting a culture of excellence, professionalism, and esprit de corps within the Sri Lanka Army. As the Brigade reflects on its achievements, it also looks confidently to the future, prepared to meet emerging challenges with unwavering commitment.
