Colonel R M Subasinghe RSP officially assumed duties as the 18th Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers during a dignified military ceremony held at the Regimental Centre on Wednesday, 02nd July 2025.
Upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre premises, Colonel Roshan Subasinghe was warmly received by the Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel M D J Wickramaarachchi USP psc ptsc, and was honoured with a Ceremonial Guard Turnout in keeping with military traditions.
As a mark of profound respect, he laid a floral wreath at the Monument of Fallen War Heroes, paying homage to the gallant soldiers of the Corps who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation.
Following the formalities, the newly appointed Centre Commandant ceremonially placed his signature on official documents, signifying the formal assumption of duties amidst religious observances. Thereafter, he addressed the troops of the Regimental Centre at the Auditorium, articulating his vision and expectations for the future of the Corps.
The day's proceedings concluded with a tea arranged at the Regimental Officers’ Mess, attended by large gathering of Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps.
