The Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) marked its 67th Anniversary with a series of spectacular events on 17th and 18th May 2025, reflecting the rich traditions, discipline, and camaraderie of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
17th May 2025 - A Day of Honor and Dedication
The anniversary celebrations commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by an impressive Ceremonial Parade, showcasing the precision and professionalism of the SLSME troops. The parade was a testament to the dedication and rigorous training of the SLSME. In line with the Sri Lanka Army’s commitment to environmental sustainability, sapling was planted by the commandant of SLSME Colonel JACS Jagoda psc, symbolizing growth, strength, and the enduring legacy of the SLSME. Followed by the troop address by Commandant SLSME, highlighting the school’s achievements, future goals, and the vital role of the training school.
In a spiritually significant event, troops visited the sacred ‘Kiri Vehera’ and ‘Katharagama Dewalaya’ for spiritual blessings and the continued success of the institution. The visit underscored the deep rooted cultural and religious values upheld by the Sri Lanka Army.
18th May 2025 - A Vibrant Musical Evening
In keeping with the spirit of celebration and to bring a refreshing break to the intensive training schedule, a vibrant Musical Evening was organized on 18 May 2025 at the School premises. The event created a lively and joyous atmosphere, encouraging interaction, morale building, and cultural engagement among the troops and staff.
The 67th Anniversary celebrations of SLSME stand as a testament to its enduring legacy in producing competent Military Engineers and maintaining the highest standards of training, discipline, and esprit de corps within the Sri Lanka Army.
