Major General T C Peiris RSP USP, Chief Field Engineer and General Officer Commanding of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, made an official visit to the 10 Field Engineer Regiment, Myliddy, on 07 May 2025.
Upon arrival, the Commanding Officer of the 10 Field Engineer Regiment, Major R R L D Rathnayake USP psc SLE, welcomed Major General T C Peiris. The visit commenced with a drive pass at the regimental entrance, showcasing the regiment's discipline and professionalism. To mark the occasion, Major General T C Peiris planted a mango sapling within the regimental premises, symbolising growth and continuity.
A comprehensive briefing is conducted by the commanding officer and key officers, covering the regiment's role, operational tasks, organisational structure, administrative framework, and logistical capabilities. This provided the Chief Field Engineer and General Officer Commanding of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division with a clear understanding of the regiment's operational readiness and commitments.
During his address to the troops, Major General T C Peiris highlighted the importance of balancing military responsibilities with personal well-being. He provided valuable insights on effective financial management in the current economic climate. Additionally, he encouraged soldiers to engage in diverse fields to enhance their skills and contributions.
Finally, Chief Field Engineer and General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division left his remarks in the visitors' Book at the Officers' Mess, 10 Field Engineer Regiment.
