Major General T C Peiris RSP USP, the Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army, conducted an official visit to the Field Engineer Brigade and 8 Field Engineer Regiment on 09 May 2025.
Upon his arrival, Major General T C Peiris was accorded with a ceremonial Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by Brigadier H K P Karunathilaka RSP, the Commander of the Field Engineer Brigade, and Major A U Hidellaarachchi RSP USP, the Commanding Officer of the 8 Field Engineer Regiment.
The visit commenced with a formal reception, followed by the ceremonial planting of a sapling by Major General T C Peiris as a symbol of growth and commitment. He then addressed the assembled troops, emphasizing the vital role of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers within the Sri Lanka Army. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and urged all personnel to give their utmost dedication and commitment to the Corps.
As part of the itinerary, Major General T C Peiris joined the Officers for a group photograph to mark the occasion and foster camaraderie. The visit concluded with the Chief Field Engineer signing the Visitors’ Book, where he expressed his appreciation for the professionalism, dedication, and valuable service rendered by the Field Engineer Brigade and the 8 Field Engineer Regiment.
