With the aim of enhancing and updating the knowledge of CBRNE operators in the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers under the guidance of Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, 14 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Response Regiment is set to host a comprehensive workshop on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) response from 21 Oct 2024 to 25 Oct 2024, in Mattegoda. This initiative, in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, National Authority for Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and Disaster Preparedness and Response Division of Health Ministry.
During the session the participants got chance to update their knowledge and decision-making capabilities, the program seeks to empower first responders in the field. Additionally, this collaborative effort will foster mutual understanding among various stakeholders involved in CBRN response, ultimately enhancing the overall readiness and effectiveness of the response framework in Sri Lanka. This workshop represents a significant step toward strengthening national and regional preparedness against CBRN threats.
