Inter Regiment Chess Championship 2024, hosted by the Sri Lanka Army Chess Committee, saw the Sappers Female Chess Team crowned as the Overall Female Champions and the Male Team securing the 5th place. The event, held from October 21st to 25th at the Sri Lanka Signals Corps Regimental Auditorium in Panagoda, drew intense competition among regimental teams across multiple categories and events.
The Sappers Female Team, comprising six talented players, delivered an exceptional performance, winning the Overall Female Championship title. The team members displayed strategic skills, resilience, and teamwork to clinch the top spot.
