The monthly meeting (October) of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was successfully held on Friday, 25th October 2024, at the Regimental Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The meeting was presided by Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, and brought together several key members, including Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake, who represented the Executive Committee as the Treasurer, as well as the spouses of serving Officers within the Corps.
This meeting served as an invaluable platform to address current issues, review progress, and discuss forthcoming initiatives aimed at uplifting the living standards of soldiers and civil servants within the Corps. The topics discussed emphasized the core mission of the Seva Vanitha Branch, which is to support, encourage, and foster welfare initiatives that impact the lives of the Corps community positively.
A highlight of the meeting was an engaging and thought-provoking guest lecture delivered by Mrs. Deepthi Wijerathne, a respected former senior member of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch. Titled “Life Experiences of a Military Wife,” her talk offered a candid look into the personal and shared experiences of military families. Mrs. Deepthi Wijerathne’s lecture, resonated with the audience as she delved into the challenges, sacrifices, and resilience required in the life of a military spouse.
