In accordance with the directions, supervision and guidance of the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade, three day basic workshop on Survey Engineering was successfully conducted for the troops of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers from 14 October 2024 to 16 October 2024 at the Plant Engineer Brigade premises. This three day workshop was conducted to enhance the theoretical, technical, and practical capabilities of military engineers to cater to basic surveying tasks assigned to the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
During the workshop, the troops received adequate training on the Total Station and Leveling instrument. Captain KWD Sachinthana SLE Bsc.Syr (Sp). AMSI (SL) and his team led the training session under the guidance and direction of the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade.
During the opening address, the Brigade Commander emphasized the requirement of mastering surveying equipment as a sapper and integrating these advanced tools into daily operations to improve project outcomes. Further, the Brigade Commander highlighted the importance of acquiring these skills to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism of the tasks undertaken by the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
At the end of the session, the participants expressed their confidence in using the new equipment and further highlighted the importance of conducting such workshops for the sappers in future.
