1 Field Engineer Regiment proudly marked 73rd anniversary this year, surpassing another milestone by showcasing glamour and pride focusing 01 October 2024. Series of activities took place to make the event a success from 30 September to 05 October, comprising military traditions and formalities.
The celebrations unfolded with receiving blessings from a Bodhi Pooja at the camp premises in the Army Cantonment Panagoda followed by inter Squadron Cricket tournament.
In keeping with military demeanor, on the anniversary day, the Commanding Officer Major D W G I D Somakeerthi USP psc SLE was accorded with a guard turnout, at the main entrance at Regimental Headquarters followed by a ceremonial parade. Moreover, adding more colour to the event, a troop address, group photograph and all ranks lunch were lined up with the schedule on 02 October 2024.
Senior Non-Commission Officers’ Get-Together was held at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess on 03 October 2024 upholding the elegance and formality.
The brief series of anniversary commemoration concluded with vibrant musical event on 05 October 2024 with the participation of all Officers, Other ranks and civilian employees at the camp premises which was organized with the aim of reducing monotony of soldiers and as an appreciation for their commitment towards the Regiment in every aspect.
