On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a touching ceremony was held at the Regimental Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The event, which was organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch, marked the donation of a laptop computer to the deserving daughter of Corporal Sirisoma GG, who passed away in 2013.
The donation was made possible through the efforts of the 6 Field Engineer Regiment, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel M A K R K Abeywickramasinghe RWP RSP psc SLE and ceremony took place under the patronage of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the Chairperson of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch.
The laptop donation aims to support her academic journey and ease the financial burden on her family. Corporal Sirisoma GG’s daughter, currently following her higher education at the University of Peradeniya.
Mrs. Irosha Abeywickramasinghe and Mrs. Nisali Fernandopulle who are members of SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, who joined in acknowledging this significant gesture of support and solidarity.
