In a significant step towards enhancing the technical capabilities of military engineers, the Plant Engineer Brigade recently conducted a construction survey workshop. These workshops introduced and trained personnel in the use of advanced surveying instruments, including the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), Total Station, and Level Instrument. The sessions were led by Captain KWD Sachinthana SLE Bsc.Syr (Sp). AMSI (SL), under the guidance and direction of the Plant Engineer Brigade Commander.
The workshops, held at the headquarters of the Plant Engineer Brigade, focused on the practical application and benefits of the newly introduced surveying tools. These instruments represent the latest construction surveying technology, aimed at improving precision and efficiency in engineering projects undertaken by the brigade.
The Brigade Commander’s directions emphasized integrating these advanced tools into everyday operations to improve project outcomes. The Commander underscored that mastering these instruments is crucial for maintaining the brigade’s edge in construction and engineering tasks, ensuring that projects are completed with greater accuracy, efficiency, professionalism, and digitalization.
The workshops were well-received, with participants expressing confidence in using the new equipment. The hands-on approach allowed sappers to familiarize themselves with the tools, ensuring they were prepared to apply their skills.
