SRI LANKA ARMY ENGINEER DIVISION HOSTS DINERS CLUB PROGRAMME

Under the guidance of Major General T C Peiris RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, a lecture titled “Strategic use of Artificial Intelligence in Military Setup” was organized by Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division on 14 August 2024 at the Mattegoda Camp Premises.

Professor A S Karunananda BSc (Hons) Colombo, MPhil (Colombo), PhD (UK) conducted the session which provided a deep drive into how the AI is influenced in military setting in numerous ways such as decision making, data driven communication and improved situational awareness.

Moreover, he provided a comprehensive overview of how the AI is revolutionizing in modern warfare, while AI offers significant advantages in terms of efficiency and strategic insight and simulation process of capturing real motions and implementing them on robots. Also he elaborated about future challenges on developing human cognitive skills and intelligence machines beyond the expectations.

54 Officers of the Corps participated in the session and simultaneously shared among the Engineer Brigades and Units via the virtual platform
