COMMEMORATING 29TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF LATE LIEUTENANT GENERAL N K B ANGAMMANA RSP USP psc

The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers commemorated 29th death anniversary of one of the colossal and legendry War Heroes in Sri Lankan Military History, Late Lieutenant General N K B Angammana RSP USP psc on Tuesday, 30th July 2024 at the Monument of Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers as dusk fell and creating a poignant atmosphere.

Amidst solemn beats of the Brass Band, the Centre Commandant Colonel F Joseph USP laid the floral wreath to the War Heroes Monument and saluted to his golden memory before the formal military honours were presented. The Last Post was played to observe military rituals of commemorating this gallant war hero.

The Deputy Centre Commandant, Staff Officers, Regimental Sergeant Major and Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre participated in the event and paid their respect to the fallen warrior.

With firm determination to render his bidding to the motherland at the critical time of need, he enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 05th April 1965. During his eminent military career, he had held numerous command, instructional and staff appointments in different capacities, whilst displaying a high degree of professionalism and utmost commitments and fell silent by a Land Mine Explosion on 30th July 1995 at Valaichchenai, Batticaloa.
