The Commander of Field Engineer Brigade, Colonel H K P Karunathilaka RSP made his maiden inaugural official visit to 9 Field Engineer Regiment on 10 July 2024.
The Commander Field Engineer Brigade was accorded with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by Major BDJ Rangajeewa USP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of 9 Field Engineer Regiment extending a gracious welcome on behalf of all Ranks of the Regiment.
In line with the programme, the Commanding Officer presented a comprehensive briefing about operational functions and the operational readiness of the 9 Field Engineer Regiment.
Subsequently, the Commander of Field Engineer Brigade addressed the troops and shared insights from his career, emphasizing high standards of discipline among military personnel and the value of military service.
As a part of the itinerary, the Commander Field Engineer Brigade planted a sapling to mark his first visit, followed by attending an all-ranks tea and interacting with the troops of 9 Field Engineer Regiment. At the culmination of visit in 9 Field Engineer Regiment, the Brigade Commander penned a complimentary note in the Visitors’ book at the Officers’ Mess.
Later visited on-going demining site at Komalamunei (N-VA- 611/N-DA-VA-586 - Stage II - Komalamunei -East) and followed by interaction session with Unit Officers.
