THE COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING OFFICIALLY TAKES OVER THE DUTIES

Colonel T D P Siriwardene psc assumed duties as the 34th Commandant of the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on Friday, 28th of June 2024, in accordance with military traditions and customs. Upon arrival, Colonel T D P Siriwardene psc was accorded with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by the Chief Instructor, Major L L C S Cabraal psc SLE at the Headquarter of SLSME.

The Chief Instructor introduced the SLSME Staff and Key Appointment holders to the newly appointed Commandant. To mark the occasion, newly appointed Commandant planted a sapling.

During his address to the troops, the Commandant of SLSME emphasized and conveyed the vision of the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc. He highlighted the importance of professionalism in training, the proper handling of subordinates, and the development of SLSME infrastructure to a new era.

To conclude the day’s itinerary, the Commandant interacted with Officers, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Sappers during the tea at the Sappers' Mess.
