The Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers hailed and appreciated the services of the former President Mrs Shammi Jayawardena during a farewell reception at Regimental Centre Officers’ Mess on 28 July 2024 with the participation of Seva Vanitha Members.
Mrs Surangi Amarapala, the new President of SLE Seva Vanitha Branch offering a bouquet of flowers welcomed the day’s Chief Guest, Mrs Shammi Jayawardena on the arrival.
Afterwards, the day’s agenda got underway with eye-catching dancing performances and entertaining musical rhythms. In the meantime, a short video was displayed highlighting the welfare and social activities conducted during Mrs Jayawardena’s tenure.
Later on, Mrs Surangi Amarapala, the President delivered the welcome note, emphasizing the invaluable service rendered by Mrs Shammi Jayawardena to uplift the welfare of injured and deceased war heroes and their families of the Corps and extended best wishes for the outgoing Chairperson and her loving family for their future endeavors. Further, a photo album was presented to the outgoing Chairperson highlighting the significant events held during her period.
Mrs Jayawardena in turn extended her gratitude to the President and Staff of Seva Vanitha Branch for the farewell and recalled the cooperation and the encouragement she received from all Seva Vanitha members with gratitude and highly appreciated those gestures.
