The Engineer division has organized a friendly cricket tournament held on 7 -12 Feb 2024 at Mattegoda, under the esteemed guidance of the General Officer Commanding, Engineer Division Maj Gen D K S K Dolage USP psc , focusing to enhance the mutual understanding among soldiers while promoting the essence of sportsmanship.
Six teams from under-commanded battalions enthusiastically participated in the event, including HQ Engr Div, 1 Fd Engr Regt, 5 Fd Engr Regt, 14 CBRNE Response Regt, 16 Workshop Regt, and 4 (V) SLE, each eager to display their skills and teamwork.
The final of the tournament held on 15 Feb 2024, at Mattegoda, between two team of HQ Engineer Division and 16 Workshop Regt. After the tough match 16 Workshop Regt secured the victory and HQ Engineer Division satisfied with Runner-up.
The final match was graced by the esteemed presence of the General Officer Commanding, Engineer Division Maj Gen D K S K Dolage USP psc as the chief guest. His presence added to the significance of the occasion, underscoring the importance of sports in fostering camaraderie and unity among soldiers.
