In a distinguished ceremony held at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General P N Godellawatta USP psc was felicitated for his recent promotion to the rank of Major General on 6 February 2024.
The event commenced with a Guard Turnout and an Admirable Guard of Honour, symbolizing the recognition of Major General Godellawatta's achievements and dedication to the military service.
Centre Commandant, Brigadier S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP warmly welcomed the newly promoted Major General upon his arrival. The ceremony unfolded with a meticulous Guard Turnout at the Main Entrance, followed by a floral tribute to the Fallen War Heroes, a gesture of respect and remembrance.
Major General P N Godellawatta USP psc, in accordance with military traditions, took the salute at the Guard of Honour, showcasing the tradition in the armed forces.
The concluding segment of the felicitation featured a formal tea at the Officers’ Mess, where the Chief Guest was graciously greeted by Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, and all Sapper Officers. This event not only marks a significant milestone in Major General Godellawatta's career but also highlights the camaraderie and support within the military community.
