The instructor appreciation programme was held on 8th October 2023 at the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering for the second consecutive year. The aim of this programme was to recognize and appreciate instructors of SLSME whilst encouraging them in their dedication and commitment as instructors. The Chief Guest for the event was the Commandant SLSME Col MKV Manoharan USP.
After lighting the traditional oil lamp amidst the sound of the “Mangul Bera” the function commenced with the “Puja Natuma” performed by the “Muthuranga” Dancing Academy which added charm and color to the event. The Certificates of appreciation were given to the respective recipients by the Commandant Col MKV Manoharan USP and by the other Senior appointment holders which included the Chief Instructor Maj Namal Keerthisinghe and the officers of SLSME, Maj Asela Bandara, Maj Asanka Samaraweera, Maj Adeesha Basnayake and Capt Viraj Sumanasekara. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to 63 instructors of Field Engineering Wing, Earthmoving and Construction Plant wing and National Vocational Qualification wing.
The awarding ceremony included an evening of talent concert which consisted of dramas and songs by the permanent staff and students following courses at SLSME.
