COMMANDER ENGINEER DIVISION VISITED THE FINAL DAY OF TRAINING SESSION CONDUCTED ON NATIONAL RADIOLOGICAL AND NUCLEAR EMERGENCY RESPOND ACTION PLAN ON 3RD MARCH 2023 AT SRI LANKA ATOMIC ENERGY REGULATORY COUNCIL (SLAERC)

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndu psc has visited the last day training session on Formulation of National Emergency plan for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies that has been organized conducted by Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council with direct supervision and consultation of International Expert from International Atomic Energy Agency. Representatives of Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, Atomic Energy Board, Sri Lanka Disaster management Center, Sri Lanka Army CBRNe, Navy, Airforce, Ministry of Health, Coastal guard, Fire brigade, Department of Metrology, Water Board , Suwasariya Ambulance service, Port Authority and Custom took part in the event which was conducted for five days. It was heavy dose of discussion on Radiological and Nuclear emergency respond planning and identification of exercise objectives in “SMART” concept according to IAEA sought international standards, and to make sure the safety and security of the Sri Lankan.

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndu psc also took part in the final discussion and contributed his expertise on national security planning guidelines of his hard-earned educational qualification on research studies of national security perspective at his National Defence Course(ndc) in Philippines as well CBRNe expertise knowledge were appreciated by all participant, stakeholders and international expertise. He was respectfully invited to take part in the closing ceremony as guest of honor by authorities of the course program in appreciation of his interest on the subject matter.

The program was immensely benefited for all participant to have an idea of how to Plan, Train and Exercise effectively and efficiently to meet the desired objective of national security and safety during Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies. The progression of further enhancement and coordination as respective responsible authorities, created good bond and understanding of each existing capability and limitations. All international expertise who took part in the event were happy and appreciated the initiative and contribution of all participant of the course and kept special remarks on enthusiastic approach of Sri Lanka army CBRNe and other services. Sri Lanka air force provided the facilities for the course in collaboration with SLAERC.
