SAPPERS MARK THEIR 33RD ANNIVERSARY AT MATTEGODA

The 5 Field Engineer Regiment proudly marked its 33rd Anniversary glamorously on 21st & 23rd August 2022. The series of events consisted with Alms giving to an Elders' Home at Mattegoda as a charity event to commemorate the anniversary, needy elders were pleased with musical event and session was winded up with distributing gift packs. On Monday (22) evening saw the commencement of Bodhi Pooja with the participation of all officers and other ranks of 5 Field Engineer Regiment.

The proud anniversary day (23), keeping traditions guard turnout greeted the Commanding Officer Lt Col Lalith Rathnayake USP Lsc SLE at the entrance of 5 Field Engineer Regiment, and planting of a sapling commenced afterward. Sappers of 5 Field Engineer Regiment were addressed by the Commanding Officer Memorizing the past glory and contribution to the nation by 5 Field Engineer Regiment and its eternal war heroes who were sacrificed their lives for nation. The brief series of anniversary commemoration concluded with an all rank lunch at Sappers’ Mess.
