Series of events were organized by Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) towards serving soldiers, civil staff and Seva Vanitha members on 05 June 2022 at the Convention Centre - Mattegoda. Step forwarding to enhance the welfare of soldiers, civil staff of the Corps, SVB - SLE has organized a donation programme as well as Soap production workshop and a timely important lecture for the Seva Vanitha members were scheduled on the programme.
The days programme commenced with the arrival of Mrs Mihiri Herath, the president of SVB - SLE and agenda was unfolded accordingly. As the first event 4 x Bathroom sets, 2 x Wheelchairs and financial assistance were handed over to selected soldiers’ families and civil staff respectively. Few donors, Mr Sanjaya Liyanage, Mr K A Sajeewa Indrajith and Mr Wajira Gunasinghe provided financial assistance to succeed the donation programme.
Later on, the soap production workshop got underway as the second event. Theory and the practical sessions have been conducted to educate Seva Vanitha members regarding the soap production. This session elaborated easy methods, ways and means of producing soaps and related products at home. Afterwards, a valuable lecture conducted by Mrs Deepthi Wijerathne under the topic of “Personal grooming and social etiquettes”. Finally, guest lecturer and all participants were invited for the dinner. The series of events were coordinated and conducted under the close supervision of the president of SVB - SLE, Mrs Mihiri Herath.
The occasion added more colours, with the presence of Office bearers, Mrs Mallika Wijesundara - Vice President, Mrs Surangi Amarapala - PRO, the senior member and members of SVB - SLE and lady Officers of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
