A family lost breadwinner who died due to suicidal hanging in Welipenna area has no house to live presently. Therefore, 12 Field Engineer Regiment having identified the necessity initiated and launched a house construction project to facilitate the needy family on 28 April 2022. This endeavor will give safe sheltering for mother and 4 kids in the family.
The house is constructed at Mathugama Divisional Secretariat Area. The doner assistance arranged by the Divisional Secretary Mathugama. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 2.3 million.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was held with the participation of the Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Divisional Secretary Mathugama and Officers and Other Ranks of 12 Field Engineer Regiment. The project is expected to complete by 28 July 2022
