In accordance with the concept of Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, the 10 Field Engineer Regiment successfully conducted a three-day Leadership Workshop for Senior Noncommissioned Officers which was designed to develop and exhibit character with a combination of leadership traits and values and attributes that enables SNCO’s to see what to do, decide to do, and influence others to follow in order to be competent in the knowledge and skills as a leader. The Workshop was started on 24th of February 2022 with the participation of three SNCO’s from 9 SLE and eleven SNCO’s from 10 SLE.
The contents and the theme of the workshop were carefully supervised by the Commanding Officer of the 10 Field Engineer Regiment with the aim of explore, discover, and construct the characteristics that a modern-day military leader must possess in executing his tasks going beyond the primary role.
The panel of instructors at the workshop acted on a fine blend of lectures and practical sessions imparting them to exchange their understanding and share the different thoughts on this leadership workshop to accomplish its overall aim of shaping the SNCO’s as leaders through experience in leadership.
First day of this workshop was terminated with a movie night at unit Conference Hall. Second day SNCO’s arranged a cocktail dinner at Warrant Officer’s and Sergeant Mess with the interaction of The Commanding Officer 10 Field Engineer regiment Lt Col WKST Kannanagara psc SLE and lecture panel of this workshop. Finally, all the SNCO’s went on an excursion to Lt Gen Denzil Kobbekaduwa monument, Jaffna fort, Kandarodai archeological site and Dambakola patuna in conforming to the imposed health regulations and guidelines to prevent COVID – 19.
