CBRN TROOPS WERE ENGAGED WITH EXERCISE ''MITHRA SHAKTHI'' IN AMPARA TOWN

The bilateral Exercise 'Mithra Shakti' now in progress at Army Training School, Ampara with contribution of both Indian Army and Sri Lankan Army troops had its joint practical training sessions on Thursday (7) in the heart of Ampara Town.

Training in conduct with involvements of CBRN troops for the road blocks, crowd dispersal, anti MT ambushes, urban patrols continued by Infantry troops during this Exercise that began on 3rd October 2021 after the arrival of Indian Army troops in Sri Lanka.

The participation of the CBRN troops reflected their skills and the abilities to adaptation of any situation. In there, they demonstrated how to response the CBRN emergency by detection, identification, reaction and rescue.

The exercise 'Mithra Shakti' is being conducted with the blessings of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva, General Officer Commanding, 53 Division, Major General Nishantha Manage functions as the Exercise Director. All field engineer and CBRN tasks were carried out under the guidance of the Chief Field Engineer, Major General Nihal Amarasekara by the Commanding Officer and his troop of 14 CBRN Response Regiment SLE. The Commanding Officer, Lt Col Danushka Liyanage functions as an Engineer/CBRN coordinator/observer for the Exercise.
