His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksha launched the ‘Gama Samaga Pilisadara’ programme on 25 September 2020 with the objective of developing of remote villages which have not been given due attention. Under the programme development of school playgrounds, pavilions and several neglected roads are being renovated by the troops of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers with the guidance and supervision of Commander of the Army.
Recently, troops of 6 Field Engineer Regiment was able to successfully completed the renovation of playground at Medagama National College, Bibila which is in size of 110m x 100m. The renovation of playground commenced on 15 May 2021 and completed on 13 July 2021.
