NOBLE DONATION ORGANIZED BY ENGINEERS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

Engineers Seva Vanitha branch has donated 5 x Commode Wheelchairs and 1 x Commode set to War Heroes and their family members. The donation programme was conducted under the close supervision of the president of Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara on 25 – 26 June 2021.

The Commode set handed over by Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the Chairperson of SVB - SLE together with Brigadier Mangala Mayadunna, Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Lieutenant Colonel Thissa Herath, Staff Officer 1 Veterans Affairs at the Regimental Centre on 25 June 2021.

Consecutively the donation programme was continued at the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) premises with the presence of Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the Chairperson, Mrs Geetha Dolawaththa, Senior Member of SVB - SLE, Major General Nihal Amarasekara, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer, Colonel Chandna Wickramanayake, Commandant of the SLSME and few more senior officers on 26 June 2021. In SLSME, 3 x Commode Wheelchairs donated to 3 x soldiers who need Wheelchairs for their family members. Moreover, another two Wheelchairs delivered to doorsteps of differently abled soldiers and handed over by senior officers of 6 and 7 Field Engineer Regiments simultaneously.

Wheelchairs and the Commode set, gifted to differently abled soldiers and serving soldier’s family members. The value of Wheelchairs amounting Rs. 110,000.00. Generous sponsorship was extended by Mr TLP Pathmaperuma and family as remembrance of their loving parents. The fund sources coordinated by Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe, former chairperson of SVB - SLE.

Minimum number of officers and soldiers participated for the event, strictly complying to the COVID 19 Health guidelines.
