16TH COMMANDING OFFICER 8 SLE TAKES OFFICE

Major A L I W K Athugala RSP USP psc SLE assumed office as the new Commanding Officer of 8 Field Engineer Regiment at Boo Oya during a brief ceremony held on Sunday 31st January 2021.

Maj A A D Abeysingha SLE welcomed the new Commanding Officer on arrival at the main entrance and the new Commanding Officer was presented a Guard Turnout in keeping with traditions.

The new Commanding Officer assumed his duties amid blessing of Maha Sangha. He planted a sapling to symbolize the occasion of assuming his duties. Thereafter he addressed the officers and other ranks where he briefs his intentions and the future plans for the 8 SLE. Finally he joined for refreshment with all ranks.
