The 18th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Additional Director of Project Management Unit of Defence Headquarters Complex Project, Major General H R K P Peiris VSV USP ndu made a formal visit to Field Engineer Brigade Premises on 15 January 2021. This visit marked as the last official visit of the Colonel Commandant, prior to his retirement.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade, Brigadier M K Jayawardana RSP USP ndu, who is over looking duties of Commander Field Engineer Brigade and Commanding Officer 8 Field Engineer Regiment Lieutenant Colonel P G P A Wijerathne RSP USP SLE. During his visit, Colonel (Project) Field Engineer Brigade and Commanding Officer 8 Field Engineer Regiment conducted formal briefing on existing deployment and operational environment. During the visit Colonel Commandant addressed the troops belong to Field Engineer Brigade and 8 Field Engineer Regiment while extending best wishes for the future endeavors and planted a sapling to mark his visit to Engineer Brigade. Further, he made a visit to Dog K9 Section at Field Engineer Brigade. At the day’s evening, Colonel Commandant was hosted with a dinner at Engineer Brigade Officers’ Mess.
The Col Project and Officers/Other Ranks of Field Engineer Brigade and Officers/Other Ranks of 8 Field Engineer Regiment were participated the events parallel to the visit.
